The Metropolia of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church – Outside Ukraina was incorporated in 2011 to provide a legal structure for the continuation of the remnant of the widowed UAOC-1942 Episcopate/Aschaffenburg Protocol-1947 Metropolia of Met. HRYHORIJ and the vacated UAOC-1942 Metropolia in the Diaspora of His Holiness, MSTYLSAV I of Kyiv and All Rus’-Ukraina, asserting spiritual union with Kyiv but legally protecting the administrative self-determination of each nationally constituted Eparchy and mandating parochial ownership of local temples.  The Episcopate of our Metropolia emanates from the OEcumenical Patriarch’s Warsaw Met. DIONISIJ (Valedynskyj) [ordained bishop on 21 April 1913 in the Pochayevska Lavra by visiting Antiochian Patriarch GREGORIOS IV assisted by Abp. (later) ROC-Outside Russia Met. ANTONY (Khrapovytskyj), and seven other bishops of the Muscovite Patriarch] fulfilling the mandate of the 1924 Tomos from  OEcumenical Patriarch GREGORIOS VII granting autocephaly to the lands previously constituting the Kyivan Metropolia. To supply the episcopacy to Kyiv, Met. DIONISIJ sent Abp. (later) UAOC Met.NICANOR (Burchak-Abramovich) and Abp.IHOR (Huba) who with Bp. MANUYIL (Tarnovskyj), Bp. (later) UGOC-Canada Met.MYKHAYIL (Khoroshyj), Bp. SYLVESTER (Haevskyj)  and Bp. (later the initial Kyiv and All Rus’-Ukraina Patriarch) MSTYSLAV who did ordain Bp. (later) Met.HRYHORIJ (Ohijchuk) to sit on Sobor with UAOC Kyivan Metroplit POLYCARP (Sikorskyj). His Beatitude, Met.MAKARIOS was ordained by Met.HRYHORIJ in 1982 and participated in the funerals of H.B.HRYHORIJ, H.H.MSTYSLAV and H.H.Pat.VOLODYMYR and has served on numerous occasions with H.H. FILARET.  At the Altars of the UAOC-OU, the incumbent of the UOC-KP patriarchal throne, H.H. FILARET and the incumbent of the UAOC Kyivan Metropolia, H.B. MAKARIJ are commemorated along with the UAOC-OU Metropolit MAKARIOS.
